Mandap hire in East Ham

East Ham is one of the liveliest parts of London for South Asian culture, from the shops and restaurants of High Street North to the jewellers and sari shops around Green Street. Tamil, Gujarati and Punjabi families have long made their home here, and weddings are celebrated with real colour and ceremony. Our mandap hire in East Ham brings beautifully made mandaps to venues across Newham and the Docklands.
Where tradition is part of daily life
In East Ham, many of the things a wedding needs, from silk and gold to flowers and sweets, can be found within walking distance. That close connection to tradition often shapes what couples want from their mandap: something that feels authentic, with rich colours, carved details and a strong sense of ceremony.
Our traditional mandaps are a natural starting point, and designs such as The Kesar bring saffron and gold warmth. For couples who prefer a contemporary look, a floral or minimal mandap can still be dressed with marigolds and jasmine to keep that traditional feel.
A Hindu wedding mandap in East Ham: Tamil and Gujarati ceremonies
Tamil weddings, which are well represented in this part of east London, often involve rituals on a raised stage with specific positions for the couple, parents and priest, and in some cases a different emphasis from the North Indian pheras. Gujarati and Punjabi Hindu ceremonies have their own sequences again. We'll discuss the layout with you, and with your priest if helpful, so the mandap supports each ritual rather than getting in its way.
Venues from Newham to the Royal Docks
East Ham couples choose from a wide range of venues: banqueting halls on the main roads, community halls, hotels and large event spaces around the Royal Docks and Canary Wharf. Docklands hotels often have very large ballrooms with excellent loading access, while smaller local halls may need a more compact design. If you're considering a hotel, our London hotel wedding mandap guide is worth a read.
- Most mandaps need roughly 3m x 3m to 5m x 5m of floor space, plus room around them
- Allow about 3m to 4m of ceiling clearance
- Ask early about the havan, as hotel fire rules can be stricter than those of dedicated halls
Getting there and setting up
East Ham is served by the District and Hammersmith & City lines, with the A13 and the North Circular close by and London City Airport a short drive away. Roads around the town centre and Green Street can be very busy, especially on weekends, so we plan delivery times carefully and agree loading arrangements with your venue. Installation usually takes two to four hours. East Ham is inside the ULEZ but outside the Congestion Charge zone, and our team accounts for both when planning routes to venues further into the city.
