Mandap hire in Berkshire

Historic English manor house and lawn, a classic country house wedding venue

Berkshire offers some of the most quietly beautiful wedding settings within reach of London, from Thames-side lawns and country estates to large hotel ballrooms a short drive from Heathrow. Our mandap hire in Berkshire brings a carefully designed ceremony centrepiece to all of it, delivered, installed and styled by our own team so that your family can focus on the day rather than the logistics.

Hindu weddings across Berkshire

Berkshire sits along the M4 corridor west of London, and that position shapes the way families here celebrate. In the east of the county, around Slough, there is a long-established South Asian community and a strong tradition of large, joyful weddings with extended family travelling in from across the country. Further west, Reading has its own well-rooted Indian community, while Windsor and Maidenhead draw couples from London and beyond who want a riverside or country-house setting for their pheras.

Whatever the scale, the mandap remains the heart of the ceremony. It is where the families meet, where the sacred fire is lit and where the vows are taken, so it deserves the same attention as the venue itself. Our team designs and installs mandaps for intimate gatherings and for ceremonies with several hundred guests, and every one is quoted individually to suit the venue and the couple.

The kinds of venues you will find

Berkshire's wedding venues are wonderfully varied, and each type brings different considerations for a mandap. Broadly, couples choose between the following settings:

  • Large hotels and conference venues along the M4 and near Heathrow, with generous ballrooms, good ceiling heights and easy parking for big guest lists.
  • Banqueting suites in and around Slough and Reading, designed with South Asian weddings in mind and used to multi-day celebrations.
  • Country houses and estates in the Thames Valley and the rolling countryside towards Newbury, ideal for garden ceremonies or an elegant orangery setting. Our country house mandap ideas explore this style in detail.
  • Riverside venues around Windsor, Maidenhead and Bray, where a waterside ceremony feels both romantic and distinctly English.
  • Marquees on private land and estate lawns, which give complete freedom over layout and styling.

Choosing a mandap for a Berkshire venue

A grand ballroom with chandeliers suits a statement design, perhaps one of our luxury mandaps with layered florals and rich drapery. A country-house lawn or a riverside garden often calls for something lighter, and our outdoor mandaps are built with weighted bases so they stand securely without fixings into the ground.

As a guide, most mandaps need floor space of roughly 3m x 3m to 5m x 5m, with room around them for the priest, the families and photographers, and around 3m to 4m of ceiling clearance indoors. Some older country-house rooms have lower ceilings or period features to protect, so we always check measurements with the venue early. You can browse the full collection on our mandaps page.

Practical logistics in Berkshire

Most of Berkshire is easy to reach from London via the M4, with the M25 and the A404(M) linking the east of the county to Buckinghamshire and Surrey. Even so, motorway traffic around Heathrow and the Thames Valley can be heavy at peak times, so we plan delivery windows carefully and agree access times with each venue in advance.

Thames Valley venues are often busy with more than one booking, so we plan for a build of a few hours, longer for the most elaborate canopies, and fix a start time with the events team. We coordinate with the venue on loading access, room turnaround and fire rules for the havan. Some venues are happy with a small, contained fire, while others, particularly historic buildings, ask for an alternative, and we can advise on both. Our journey along the M4 into Berkshire, the build and the clear-down afterwards are all part of the hire.

Explore Berkshire by area

We have written dedicated guides for the parts of Berkshire where we are asked about most often. Each one covers the local venue landscape and the practicalities of a mandap installation there:

Planning your Berkshire ceremony

Berkshire couples can see the mandaps at a private viewing, and once the design feels right, paying a quarter of the quote holds the date. We work with both fresh and premium faux florals, so the look can be tailored to the season and the setting.

If you would like to talk through your venue, guest numbers and the style you have in mind, get in touch with our team and we will be glad to help you plan a ceremony that feels entirely yours.

Frequently asked questions

Do you deliver mandaps to all of Berkshire?

Yes. Delivery, installation and removal are included across London and the Home Counties, which covers Berkshire, from Slough and Windsor in the east to Reading and beyond in the west.

Can we have a mandap outdoors at a Berkshire country house?

Absolutely. Our outdoor designs use weighted bases so nothing needs to be fixed into the lawn, and we always agree a wet-weather plan with you and the venue, such as an indoor room or marquee kept ready as a backup.

Will our venue allow a havan?

It depends on the venue. Some allow a small, contained havan, while others, especially historic buildings, require an alternative. We discuss fire rules with your venue in advance so there are no surprises on the day.
